Abma’s Farm, on Lawlins Road, can trace their barn back to 1870, when it was a farm owned by Daniel Yeoman. It was sold to George Fox in 1880. Barney Abma purchased it in 1933, and it has been in the family ever since. The post and beam barn is considered one of the best-preserved Dutch barns in the country. Barney Abma raised chickens, turkeys, and pigs. He is seen here in 1935, in front of his car that he used to deliver eggs. The farm no longer delivers eggs but the Abma family still maintains a farm market.
