WHS Museum Holiday Open House

December 1 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

WHS volunteers selling Hidden Historic Wyckoff Walking tour tickets on October 6.

Stop by on December 1 from 11 am to 3 pm

to experience the WHS Museum Holiday Open House and a peek into Wyckoff’s history. Light refreshments will be served.

The newly renovated museum now features local farm, business and house items. If you have driven by lately, you might have noticed that the exterior was painted this past summer – in its original colors. The interior was also painted and was recently featured on our Walking Tour on October 13. It was the first time the shop was open to the public since 2006. We expect to be open more often in 2019 as items are added and exhibitions are rotated.

The original building was thought to be built in the late 1880s and was a barbershop and cobbler shop throughout its years on Everett Avenue and later Main Street in Wyckoff. In 1978 it was moved to its present location by Zabriskie Pond on Franklin Avenue.

Today, the museum still features Frank’s Muscara’s barber chair and his barber tools. Frank’s shop was located on the east side Franklin Avenue until 2005 when he retired after 50 years. Also on display are items from Russell Farms and a circa 1905 girl’s dress. Click to view HolidayOpenHouse flyer.

The Zabriskie House will also be open on December 1. Visit The Zabriskie House for details.
