Also on Godwin Avenue is the Terhune House, built in the early 1700s with 24-inch thick walls that were mortared with mud, pig bristle, and clamshells. The main pilings consist of pine tree trunks. You can see the original one-room structure of the house to the right. Additions were built in 1877, 1895, and 1960. The Van Blarcom family bought it in 1895.
